Youth from St. John the Evangelist and St. Joseph parishes in Ishpeming collected $1,200 in their annual Souper Bowl of Caring Collection which was taken up in the parishes Feb. 2 and Feb. 3, coinciding with the NFL's Super Bowl Sunday. The parishes matched the amount collected and recently Father Ryan Ford gave $800 each to three local organizations that serve the weekend and summer break needs of kids who regularly receive free or reduced meals at school: Hematite Power Packs, Patriot Packs and St. Vincent de Paul's Summer Food For Kids Program.
