Chad Larsen

Michigan State Police Motor Carrier Sgt. Chad Larsen was promoted to the rank of lieutenant on Sept. 9. As lieutenant, Larsen is the commanding officer of the Eighth District’s Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division, which encompasses the Upper Peninsula. CVED officers are a specialized services bureau of the Michigan State Police and are responsible for the staffing and operation of 14 scale facilities statewide, two in the Upper Peninsula, and conduct road patrol activities focused on commercial vehicle enforcement, including enforcement related to traffic, commercial vehicle drivers and equipment, size and weight, hazardous materials transportation and regulatory requirements. Larsen oversees one sergeant, eight motor carrier officers, one investigator and one school bus inspector throughout the district. Larsen has worked in the 8th District since his graduation from recruit school in 2001.
