Juidici receives scholarship

MARQUETTE – Mara Juidici of Negaunee High School has been awarded a scholarship by the Richard M. Jopling Unit 44 of the American Legion Auxiliary in Marquette.

The scholarship is awarded annually to a graduating high school senior in Marquette County who is planning to attend a college, university or trade school in Michigan the following year. Recipients demonstrate exemplary leadership abilities, scholastic achievement, and a commitment to community service.

Juidici has been involved in Flag Corps, Zonta Club, forensics, marching band, National Honor Society and peer coaching at Negaunee High School.

Outside of school, she was youth superintendent for Marquette District of the United Methodist Church, lectors at her church, Mitchell Methodist, and is a side walker at horse riding programs.

She was named Willow Farms Volunteer of the Year and this year served as captain of the NHS Band’s Flag Corps.

She lives in Palmer and is the daughter of Daniel and Connie Juidici.
