Area residents join the Guard

MARQUETTE – Three area residents recently enlisted in the Michigan Army National Guard.

Included are:

Christian D. Hanselman, who is attending Northern Michigan University and is a 2013 graduate of Manchester High School in downstate Manchester.

In May, Hanselman will attend basic training followed by advanced training for his job skill, both at Fort Leonardwood, Mo.

The son of Jeffrey C. and Nancy L. Hanselman of downstate Chelsea, Hanselman will be assigned to the 1437TH Engineer Company Multi Role Bridging Company in Sault Ste. Marie as a bridge crew member.

He has plans to use his Guard benefits to continue his education at NMU.

Tyler R. Krajewski, who attended Munising High School and in 2014 graduated with his GED from the Michigan Youth Challenge Academy in downstate Battle Creek.

Krajewski will be attending basic training in March at Fort Jackson, S.C., followed by advance training at Gulfport, Miss.

The son of Angela M. Satterlee of Munising, Krajewski will be assigned to the 1430TH Engineer Company in Gladstone as a carpentry and masonry specialist.

He plans to use his Guard benefits to continue his education at NMU.

Sean P. McMillan, who is attending NMU and is a 2014 graduate of downstate Allen Park High School.

McMillan will be attending basic training in May followed by advance training, both at Fort Benning, Ga.

The son of James M. and Nadine S. McMillan of Allen Park, McMillan will be assigned to Detachment 1, Company B, 125TH Infantry in Alpena as an infantryman.

He plans to use his Guard benefits to continue his education at NMU.
