Local resident a Miss Michigan Teen USA finalist

MARQUETTE – Amanda St. Germain of Marquette was fourth runner-up in the 2015 Miss Michigan Teen USA competition held recently in Port Huron.

St. Germain represented the city of Marquette as her title name and was judged by a six-person panel on interview, swimsuit, and evening gown categories in the competition, which featured 44 contestants.

The two-day event narrowed the field to the top 15, from which a top five was selected. St. Germain was chosen Fourth Runner-Up to the Miss Michigan Teen USA title, which was won by Maria Rendina of downstate Monroe.

“The best part of the competition was being able to meet great friends and feeling like I was part of a family,” St. Germain said in a news release. “The hardest part was eagerly waiting to go on onstage in front of several hundred people, hearing the music start and the announcers begin their introductions, as the crowd cheers.”

This was her first pageant.

As part of placing in the five finalists, St. Germain received a crystal trophy, Swarovski necklace, and a university scholarship. She is the daughter of Brian and Kathy St. Germain of Marquette.

Miss Michigan Teen USA and Miss Michigan USA compete in the Miss USA Teen and Miss USA pageants, and on to Miss Universe.
