Marquette Board of Light and Power celebrates 125th anniversary

Marquette Board of Light and Power recently celebrated 125 years of operation with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Attending the celebration were, from left: Marquette County Ambassadors John Marshall and Tom Tourville; John Reynolds, BLP director of generation and engineering services; Erik Booth, BLP manager of planning and utility compliance; Noreen Collins, BLP administrative assistant and community relations coordinator; BLP board member Jerry Garceau; BLP utility accountant Toby Smith; David Lynch, BLP Assistant director-utility operations; BLP board member Karen Kimar Johnson; BLP accounting clerk Matt Zavislak; Mary Adamini, BLP director of personnel and employee relations; John Prince, BLP board vice chairman and secretary; BLP board Chairman Edward Angeli; BLP general relief clerk Racheal Mager; BLP Controller Helen LaFayette; Marquette City Commission member Frederick Stonehouse; BLP Executive Director Paul Kitti; Marquette County Ambassador Travis Hongisto; and Derek Bush, Lake Superior Community Partnership business development representative. The BLP staff hosted a public picnic and tours of the steam plant and hydro plant as part of the celebration.
