Youths volunteer at Fort Wilkins

More than 50 student volunteers in the Michigan Iron Industry Museum’s Future Historians youth group recently participated in the living history program at Fort Wilkins State Park at Copper Harbor. Luke Peterson and Amanda Matznick. Students learned about 19th Century life, chores, etiquette and pastimes, then travel to Copper Harbor to portray children who lived at or near the army post during the 1870s.
