Carlson top legionnaire
Ray Carlson of Marquette’s American Legion Post was honored as the Upper Peninsula Legionnaire of the Year at the recent summer convention of the Upper Peninsula Association of American Legion Posts. Carlson is a veteran of the U.S. Navy who served in the Vietnam era and has been an American Legion member for 32 years. He was involved with American Legion baseball for 20 years at the post and zone levels and has been commander at the post, district and zone levels. He is currently the UPAALP adjutant and its finance committee chairman, as well as finance officer for Post 44.
