IRON MOUNTAIN — The Caring House had its annual Break the Silence event Tuesday, starting with a procession of vehicles sporting purple ribbons and honking horns for domestic violence awareness. Iron Mountain secures grant, applies for more funds

IRON MOUNTAIN — The city of Iron Mountain is among 29 Michigan communities — and the only one in the Upper Peninsula — that will receive a 2023 DTE Energy Foundation Tree Planting Grant. The city was awarded $4,000 under a program that will provide $102,545 to help communities and organizations in Michigan add trees to streets, parks and other public spaces. Cause of Manistique apartment fire unknown

MANISTIQUE — No one was injured in a structure fire that took place in Manistique Monday afternoon. At approximately 1:49 p.m., the Manistique Public Safety Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 644 Garden Avenue in the city of Manistique. A passerby had reported there was visible smoke and flames coming from the structure.
