MARQUETTE — The Marquette Regional History Center presents “The Cruise of the Abbie Returns: Photography and Adventure on Lake Superior.” The program is 6:30 p.m. Nov. 15 at the center, located at 145 W. Spring St., Marquette. In 1889 John M. Longyear set out on his boat to tour Lake Superior, do a little fishing and explore Isle Royale. CALUMET TOWNSHIP — In the 50 years since Paul Lehto entered public service, Calumet Township has experienced many changes and much progress. When Universal Oil Products purchased the Calumet and Hecla Mining Company (C&H) in 1968, the township began its transition from a community largely controlled by the company to a self-sustaining, progressive township.
