New CNA program to be offered

IRON MOUNTAIN — Bay College West Campus will be offering a 10-week, 120-hour Certified Nursing Assistant training course starting on Sept. 7 in Iron Mountain.

This program will run the lecture and laboratory portions form 5 to 9 p.m. Central Time Tuesdays and Thursdays and include 40 hours of clinical on the weekends of Oct. 9 and 10, as well as Oct. 16 and 17. The cost of the training is $1,245, which includes the textbook. The deadline to register is Aug. 31.

“We are excited to try out this extended schedule. We believe this format will provide students with more time to absorb and retain information while also accommodating individuals who need to continue working,” said Gina Wollner, dean of Bay College West Campus, in a news release. “We made the decision to run the 120-hour class due to the close proximity to the Wisconsin border, which will allow students to work in 35 states, including Michigan and Wisconsin once they pass their exam.”

Requirements for program entry include satisfactorily completing a medical examination before entrance to clinics, passing a criminal background check, and a negative COVID-19 test prior to clinicals. To register, visit the Bay College Training and Development page at https://mytraining.baycollege.edu.
