Kingsford High School to hold COVID-19 testing event Monday

KINGSFORD — Rapid COVID-19 testing will be offered Monday at Kingsford High School to coincide with the end of spring break at local schools, the Dickinson-Iron Intermediate School District announced.

The test will be provided from noon to 6 p.m. Monday in the parking lot of the high school, 431 Hamilton Ave. in Kingsford. It is open to anyone of any age who shows up at the testing site, the DIISD stated in a news release posted on the Dickinson-Iron District Health Department’s Facebook page Wednesday.

Participants are asked to fill out a pre-registration form for each person to be tested, available online at http://honumg.info/KingsfordHS or on the DIISD website at www.diisd.org.

Those coming for the test Monday should use the Pyle Drive entrance to the parking lot, not the one from Hamilton Avenue. Participants will remain in their vehicles while the test is done. Results should be available within 15 to 30 minutes.

An area will be set aside for waiting for the results by text or phone call. Anyone who tests positive can return to the same testing site for a more comprehensive PCR COVID-19 test, which will take 48 to 72 hours for results. If unable to return that day, a PCR test should be scheduled with another provider.
