Police chase suspect arraigned

ONTONAGON — A Wisconsin man was arraigned in 98th District Court Monday after allegedly leading police on a chase through Ontonagon County at more than 100 mph.

Travis Kosey, 26, of Rothschild, Wisconsin, was reported driving recklessly after having failed to pay for gasoline Friday night. When a deputy saw the car around 10:25 p.m., they pursued the suspect, who crashed in Rockland, according to a release from the Ontonagon County Sheriff’s Office. After the man continued on foot, officers from several local agencies set up a perimeter before finding the man in an outbuilding on a residential property.

Kosey was charged with receiving and concealing stolen property (motor vehicle), a five-year felony; fleeing a police officer – fourth degree, a two-year felony; larceny less than $200, a 93-day misdemeanor; and operating while intoxicated, a 93-day misdemeanor.

His bond was set at 10% cash of $50,000. A probable cause conference was set for March 1, a week before his preliminary exam.
