Not guilty plea entered in meth case

IRON MOUNTAIN — An Iron River man accused of methamphetamine possession has pleaded not guilty in Dickinson County Circuit Court.

Damian Donati, 41, is charged with possession of a controlled substance, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison.

Donati is charged as a four-time habitual offender and could spend up to life in prison if convicted.

According to the criminal complaint, Iron Mountain police stopped Donati while driving for an equipment violation and invalid registration plate Aug. 8. He was arrested on outstanding warrants, the complaint stated.

Methamphetamine reportedly was found during an inventory search. A pre-trial conference is set for March 15.
