SAGOLA — An accidental death occurred at the Louisiana Pacific Plant along M-95 in Dickinson County on Friday, according to the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post.

Troopers had responded to a medical call at the facility and a preliminary investigation determined that the man was severely injured after falling from a catwalk while standing on it and cleaning machinery, police said. Lifesaving efforts were performed at the scene but were unsuccessful and the man was pronounced dead at the scene, according to the press release. The investigation is ongoing, police said.

Star Ambulance, Sagola Fire Department and Valley Med flight assisted troopers at the scene.
