‘Bomb threat’ in St. Ignace

MARQUETTE — No viable threat was detected from a report of a “bomb threat” at LaSalle High School in St. Ignace Monday afternoon.

The Mackinac County Sheriff’s Office received information from LaSalle High School administrators about a hand written “bomb threat” that was found on a boys bathroom wall. The threat did not appear to be credible but follow up investigation and safety precautions were begun to safeguard the students against the threat, a press release from the sheriff’s office states.

The sheriff’s office notified Michigan State Police and Saint Ignace City Police of the incident. All agencies began working in conjunction with school officials to develop a safety plan to safeguard the students against the possible threat and these were implemented Monday night as well as Tuesday morning with no viable threat located.
