Police look into possible drowning
HARDWOOD — Troopers from the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post today said they are still investigating a possible drowning that took place on Saturday.
At about 5:16 p.m. Saturday, troopers were dispatched to Stromberg Park located on the East Branch Sturgeon River in Hardwood near Foster City. It was reported a 28-year-old male jumped off a pontoon boat and never resurfaced. The search was called off due to darkness that day.
The state police marine unit was to have resumed the search Sunday, with officials saying nothing new to report as of early this morning.
