MOHAWK — Police early today seized more than $20,000 worth of cocaine from a Mohawk residence and arrested a man and woman, both 32 years old, on related drug charges, according to a press release from the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team.

Police early this morning executed a search warrant at the suspects’ residence, which is along Cliff Street in Mohawk. During their search, authorities found about 1/4 pound of cocaine, more than $6,900 in cash and evidence of drug distribution.

UPSET detectives began investigating the suspects several weeks ago.

Their names were withheld pending their arraignment, and the investigation remains ongoing, according to the release.

UPSET was assisted by members of the Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team, Laurium Police Department, Keweenaw County Sheriff’s Department and MSP Calumet Post.
