Man cited, transported to hospital after single-vehicle rollover

IRON MOUNTAIN — One person was cited and transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries due to a single-vehicle rollover accident that occurred after the driver fell asleep at the wheel, according to the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post.

The accident occurred around 6:30 a.m. EST on M-95 near Floodwood Road in Sagola Township when a northbound vehicle ran off the roadway on the east side of the road.

The vehicle then re-entered the road, rolling over numerous times before coming to a stop on the west side of the road. The driver, Henry Sale of Warren, Michigan, admitted to falling asleep while driving and was cited for careless driving.

He was transported to the Dickinson County Hospital by Star Ambulance with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.
