SAULT STE. MARIE — Police have released the names of the individuals involved in a traffic crash that claimed the life of a Sault Ste. Marie woman early Monday morning in Soo Township.

According to the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office, the passenger of the vehicle, Stacey Lynn Hough, 27, of Sault Ste. Marie, passed away as a result of the crash.

The driver, Kole Stephen Rabb, 22, of Kalamazoo, was transported to War Memorial Hospital by the Sault Ste. Marie Fire Department and remains there with “what appears to be non-life threatening injuries,” police said.

The accident occurred around 2:20 a.m. along I-75 in Soo Township when the vehicle “drove in to the median and rolled over multiple times,” according to a previous release from the Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office.

Rabb and Hough were “boyfriend and girlfriend and were returning from an Easter visit” when the crash occurred, officials said.

The investigation is still ongoing. The Chippewa County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Sault Ste. Marie Police Department and the U.S. Border Patrol.
