Police patrol car involved in crash

IRON MOUNTAIN — A two-vehicle traffic crash involving a Michigan State Police patrol car occurred at 7 a.m. Saturday on Larson Lane in Dickinson County’s Breitung Township.

No serious injuries were reported in the incident, according to a state police press release.

A trooper was traveling on Larson Lane when a pickup truck backed out of a residential driveway, police said. The trooper attempted to avoid the collision, but was unable to and the truck crashed into the passenger side front fender of the patrol car.

Following an investigation and review of dash-cam video, the pickup driver was issued a civil infraction citation for failure to yield. Names of those involved were not released by police.
