Personal injury crash investigated
IRON MOUNTAIN — Troopers from the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post responded to a three vehicle personal injury crash Saturday at approximately 6:40 p.m. at U.S. 141 and Breitung Avenue in Dickinson County.
According to a release issued by the MSP, the investigation determined that an eastbound vehicle operated by Kathryn Abraham-Coffman, 73, attempted to cross U.S. 141 when it struck a northbound vehicle, operated by 64-year-old Margaret Harvath. The collision caused Harvath’s vehicle to collide with a third vehicle, which was operated by Matthew LaLonde, 34, as he was stopped at a stop sign on Lincoln Avenue heading west.
Abraham-Coffman and Harvath were transported by ambulances to Dickinson Memorial Hospital for evaluation. Harvath was later released and Abraham-Coffman was cited for failure to yield.
Alcohol is not believed to be a factor.
Assisting at the scene were Kingsford Public Safety, Breitung Township Fire Department, and Integrity Ambulance.
