Crystal Falls man arrested after 40 grams of crystal meth seized

MARQUETTE — Over 40 grams of crystal meth were seized by the Upper Peninsula Substance Enforcement Team, or UPSET, after a search warrant was executed at a residence along Oswald Street in the village of Crystal Falls on Wednesday, according to UPSET.

The suspect, a 37-year-old man of Crystal Falls, was arrested and lodged at Iron County Jail on charges related to the distribution of crystal meth.

He is currently being held on a $25,000 bond, according to UPSET.

The investigation is ongoing at this time and additional arrests are expected, UPSET said.

According to the release, the estimated street value of the drugs seized is nearly $10,000.

UPSET Detectives were assisted by the Crystal Falls Police Department, the Iron County Sheriff’s Department and personnel and a K-9 unit from the Michigan State Police Iron Mountain Post, as well as the Michigan State Police Emergency Support Team and the Michigan State Police Homeland Security Team.
