Nighttime work on US 2 starting
ESCANABA — Motorists should expect nighttime lane closures and traffic shifts on U.S. 2 in Escanaba beginning Wednesday.
The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing $800,000 to resurface 2.4 miles of U.S. 2 from North 30th Street to Danforth Road.
Beginning Wednesday, resurfacing work will be done between 7 p.m. and 7 a.m. No work will be done on Friday or Saturday nights. Work is expected to be completed in September. An 11-foot width restriction is also in effect in the work zone.
The project is covered by a two-year pavement warranty. Work also includes intermittent asphalt milling and resurfacing and drainage structure repairs.
