Oct. 11, Anita Hill testifies at Clarence Thomas hearings

FILE - In this Oct. 11, 1991 file photo, University of Oklahoma law professor Anita Hill stands in the Caucus Room after spending the morning testifying before the Senate Judiciary Committee on Capitol Hill in Washington. “Uncertainty: that's the thing that keeps people from coming forward,” says Hill, who famously came forward herself in 1991 with harassment allegations against Clarence Thomas in his Supreme Court confirmation hearing. “They just don’t know what’s going to happen. And you do know it’s going to be really brutal.” (AP Photo/Greg Gibson, File)
