MARQUETTE DISTRICT COURT

Decisions in the following cases were made by Judge Robert W. Kangas:

≤ Cameron Jeffery Green, 19, of 1400 W. Fair Ave., Marquette — April 5, controlled substance use of marihuana: 12 months probation, pay $375 or jail.

≤ Jessica Lea Shumate, 42, of 309 N. Fifth St., Ishpeming — operating while intoxicated; registration, unregistered or improper fees paid: 30 days jail, to serve one day up front with balance of jail time deferred, credit for one day served, 12 months probation, pay $745 or jail.

≤ Alister John Henderson, 20, of 98 Riverland Drive, Marquette — April 5, disorderly person drunk: 20 days jail, to serve zero days up front with balance of jail time deferred, six months probation, pay $365 or jail.

≤ Amanda Nicole-Marie Pohlman, 22, of 512 N. Pine St., Ishpeming — April 5, driving failure to maintain security: six months probation, pay $325 or jail.

≤ Amanda Nicole-Marie Pohlman, 22, of 512 N. Pine St., Ishpeming — April 5, failure to stop at scene of property damage accident: 30 days jail, to serve one day up front with balance of jail time deferred, credit for one day served, six months probation, pay $1,100.84 or jail.

≤ Kevin Tyler-Serge Otto, 19, of 421 Silver Creek Road, Marquette — April 5, retail fraud, third degree, less than $200: 40 days jail with credit for 19 days served, 12 months probation, pay $365; April 5, controlled substance possession of marijuana: pay $765 or jail.

MARQUETTE CIRCUIT COURT

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing April 11:

≤ Marcus M Brim, 36, of Marquette Branch Prison, 1960 U.S. 41 South in Marquette, was sentenced to eight months to two years, six months in prison, to be served consecutively to Brim’s current sentence. Brim was ordered to pay fines and costs of $198. Brim pleaded guilty March 22 to attempted assault of a prison employee.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing April 13:

≤ Amadeus Eugene Glenn, 31, of 107 Blueberry in Gwinn, was sentenced to 316 days in jail, with credit for 316 days served and ordered to pay fines and costs of $8,500.66. Glenn pleaded guilty Jan. 31 to malicious destruction of property, greater than $200 but less than $1,000. Glenn was also sentenced to 316 days in jail, with credit for 316 days served and ordered to pay fines and costs of $798. Glenn pleaded guilty Jan. 31 to controlled substance possession, cocaine, less than 25 grams.

≤ Scott William Stewart, 49, of 711 Spring St. in Ishpeming, was sentenced to 270 days in jail, with credit for 211 days served, given 24 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $458. Stewart pleaded nolo contendere Jan. 26 to police officer assault/resist.

≤ Crystal May Thomas, 33, of 642 Hercules St. in Gwinn, was sentenced to 93 days in jail with credit for one day served, with balance of jail deferred, given 24 months probation with the 96th District Court and ordered to pay fines and costs of $725. Thomas pleaded guilty Jan. 29 to embezzlement, agent or trustee, $200 or more but less than $1,000.

≤ Douglas Anthony Tilot, 37, of 104 Ready St. in Ishpeming was sentenced to 180 days in jail, with credit for 31 days served, given 24 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $798. Tilot pleaded guilty Jan. 9 to police officer assault. Tilot was convicted Jan. 9 as a habitual offender, second, by the court.

Appearing before Judge Jennifer Mazzuchi for sentencing April 19:

≤ Stephanie Ray Dawn, 34, of 530 Wright St. in Marquette, was sentenced to serve 300 days in jail, with credit for 27 days served and sentenced to serve 120 days, with credit for 93 days served and 150 days served up front. The two sentences are to be served concurrently. Ray was given 18 months probation and ordered to pay fines and costs of $448. Ray pleaded guilty Jan. 26 to one count of controlled substance possession, cocaine, less than 25 grams, and one count of attempted police officer assault/resist.

≤ James Marcus Duff, 24, of Marquette Branch Prison, 1960 U.S. 41 South in Marquette, was sentenced to serve two to five years in prison, concurrent to Duff’s current sentence. Duff was ordered to pay fines and costs of $198. Duff pleaded guilty Feb. 22 to assault of a prison employee.
