MARQUETTE — Getting shots on goal is one thing, but putting them in the net is another. That dilemma continues to plague the Marquette Electricians Local 1070 team this season. The Electricians were shut out, 4-0, by the Chicago Young Americans in their Midget AAA home opener at Northern Michigan University’s PEIF building Saturday afternoon. After a scoreless opening period, the Electricians got themselves in trouble with penalties.

“They came out jumping and it took us awhile to get going,” said Coach Chris Limback. “We lost this game by being in the penalty box too often.”

Goalie Jeff Hanson was the player of the game for the Electricians, as he turned away 37 shots.

“Hanson played an outstanding game. He kept us in it,” said Limback. “I want to thank the crowd for supporting us. That was one of the biggest crowds I’ve seen for Midget hockey. I really liked the way the team was working today. Now we need to find a way to score goals and eliminate the dumb mistakes.”
