BARAGA — The Baraga County Kiwanis will sponsor a Wisconsin-style fish boil during Lumberjack Days in Baraga. All-you-can-eat dinners of lake trout steak, potatoes, cole slaw, and carrots and onions topped with melted butter cost $5 for adults, $2.75 for children.

60 years ago

MARQUETTE — Donna Williams, Marquette, has replaced Betty Blohm, Marquette, as city health nurse. Blohm, a graduate of St. Luke’s Hospital school of nursing, had been with the department for two years. A graduate of Northern Michigan College’s college of practical nursing in 1958, Williams became a licensed nurse in Michigan in November the same year. She did private duty nursing and also general duty nursing at St. Mary’s Hospital and also was assistant to the pharmacist at War Memorial Hospital, Sault Ste. Marie, for approximately one year.
