MARQUETTE — Mitch Lazeren, owner of the Bonanza Restaurant, is ready to sample sugar-free fresh fruit from a section of the business’s newly-remodeled salad bar. Last week, the restaurant expanded its already-large food bar into a five-station food court, with four free-standing specialized bars surrounding a main salad bar. The work, which included floor reconstruction, wiring, plumbing, the installation of four new bar sections, and a rebuilt main bar. Lazeren said the modification reduced seating capacity in the restaurant from 304 to 288, but gives customers more variety in food choice. The four separate bars are devoted to: soups and breads, soft serve ice cream, other desserts, and a section that offers low-calorie, low-fat,low-sodium, and high-fiber foods

NEGAUNEE — The Negaunee Women’s Choral Club, which will present its 19th annual spring concert on April 29 in the Negaunee High School auditorium, is comprised of the following members: Mrs. Ida Tikkanen, Miss Rose Heid, Mrs. Richard Ellis, Mrs. Peter Ghiardi, Mrs. Joel Kela, Miss Sharleen Valente, Miss Evelyn Erickson, Mrs. Lester Juchemich, Miss Dorothy Pascoe, Mrs. Angelo Forchini, Mrs. Jon Norie, Mrs. Robert Gleason, Miss Carol Alongo, Mrs. Willard Gentz, Mrs. Norman Stanaway Jr., Mrs. Clifford Waters, Mrs. Sigfrid Danielson, Miss Shirley Mallett, Mrs. Werner Talus, Mrs. Richard Sanford, Mrs. Richard Boroughf, Mrs. Clifford Warner, and Mrs. Ray Lukkarinen. Mrs. Sanford directs the choral group and Mrs. Warner serves as accompanist.
