ISHPEMING–Marge Graham has opened Holiday House, a child development center, at 123 E. Division St. The business offers instruction in language, cognition and social-personal development. Graham, a Marquette native, has run similar operations in the past. She attended Northern Michigan University before earning a bachelors degree in communications education at Columbia University in Chicago. She hosted a childrens’ television program in Florida for a year and has worked in radio broadcasting. She also writes childrens’ songs, has published a craft book and writes verses for greeting cards. Holiday House accepts youngsters ages 2 through 8 and is open 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday. “It is thoroughly rewarding for me to experience the beginning stages of each student’s capability and to genuinely enjoy the exuberance with each child when he or she accomplishes their goals,” said Graham.

TRENARY–Mr. and Mrs. Ronald Rama and son, John, have left for Milwaukee, where they will spend the holidays with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Steppich. Pvt. Douglas Finlan, USMC, is spending a 15-day furlough with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Francis Finlan. He has completed his basic training at Camp Pendleton in California. William Webber, ENFN, U.S. Navy, has arrived from Norfolk, Va., for a 15-day visit with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Webber. Enroute home he visited in Grosse Pointe Park with his brother-in-law and sister, Mr. and Mrs. George Saway.
