MARQUETTE — For the first time, graduate students in the Upper Peninsula will be able to complete a doctor’s degree from Northern Michigan University as the result of a joint agreement between NMU and Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. The co-agreement will provide for instruction and advisement services to graduate students, allowing them to complete a doctor of education degree in educational leadership, said Northern officials. The Northern-Western educational pact is scheduled to be formally announced Thursday when officials from both universities meet at Northern to sign the agreement, said WMU officials.
