EPA grant will focus on brownfield redevelopment

HOUGHTON — InvestUP, in partnership with the Western Upper Peninsula Planning and Development Region, Houghton County Land Bank and Gogebic County Land Bank, has been selected for a $1 million Environmental Protection Agency Brownfields Assessment Coalition Grant to support redevelopment in the Western Upper Peninsula. Blue Champagne to perform tonight

MARQUETTE — Blue Champagne, featuring Mary Lou Pesola, Bob Buchkoe and Wayne Finman, will be performing at the Marquette Federated Women's Clubhouse at 7 p.m. tonight. The performance is free with a free will offering for the upkeep of the clubhouse, which is celebrating its centennial this summer. The group will play a variety of swing, easy listening jazz and pop songs from the 20s to the 90s.

Mackinac Bridge View Park building dedicated to former Bridge Authority Chairman Bill Gnodtke

ST. IGNACE — The Mackinac Bridge Authority recently dedicated the building at Bridge View Park in honor of Bill Gnodtke, former authority member and chairman. During the meeting, held at the iron worker memorial at the park in St. Ignace, the authority members passed a resolution marking the dedication and invited guests spoke of Gnodtke’s many years of service and stewardship of the Mighty Mac.
