Baraga man named to state vets park commission

BARAGA — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer has announced appointments to various boards and commissions including the Michigan Veterans’ Memorial Park Commission. Named to that state panel was Floyd Crawford, of Baraga, a Vietnam War air veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and an on-call elder nutritional program driver for the Keweenaw Bay Indian Community. Crawford will be reappointed as a member of the general public for a term commencing Dec. 19, 2026 and expiring Dec. 18, 2029.  This appointment is not subject to the advice and consent of the State Senate.
