MARQUETTE — Pianist Robert Buchkoe will present a concert of Ukrainian classical music at 7 p.m. Friday, June 12, at the Messiah Lutheran Church in Marquette. The concert will also feature a guest chorus performing selected songs in addition to the piano solos. Admission is free with a free will offering for the victims of the war.

SAULT STE. MARIE — The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing about $2.9 million for shoulder widening on M-28 from M-221 to I-75 in Chippewa County, extending the lifespan of the roadway and increasing safety for motorists. The project also includes resurfacing the carpool lot at the I-75 interchange. The tentative start date is Monday, June 8 with the estimated ending date of Friday, Aug. 21.
