MARQUETTE — The National Active and Retired Federal Employees chapter 1900 will meet by Zoom only at noon today. Chapter members will receive the Zoom link by email. Columbaria installed in Ishpeming

ISHPEMING — The city of Ishpeming installed by crane, two, 48-niche columbaria into the St. Joseph Cemetery. The units weigh approximately 16,000 pounds each and were trucked in from Canada where the granite is quarried and processed. Menominee Granite Company handled the ordering and installation of the units at 1889 Prairie Ave., Ishpeming. This is units number 5 and 6 at this cemetery. 30 years ago MARQUETTE — Although fewer high school students dropped out in the 1994-95 school year than the previous year statewide, most Superiorland schools reported dropout rates that were a fraction of the state average. Statewide, the dropout rate for the year fell to 5.2 percent from 6.6 percent the year before, according to Education Department analysis. Program announced for Negaunee City Band Concert

NEGAUNEE — Next week, the Negaunee City Band will be led by guest conductor, Ben Zindler, Ishpeming Public Schools band director.
