ESCANABA, IRON MOUNTAIN - Bay and Gogebic Community College Civics Corps will host the Fifth Annual Veterans Speak virtual event from 7-8:30 p.m. EST Monday, Nov. 23.

Veterans Speak is an intergenerational dialogue that brings veterans and students together to listen to veterans’ experiences, learn from different generations, and honor veterans’ service to our country. This year's program focuses on a Vietnam-era panel and will include a dialogue between the panel and veterans from other eras. Dr. Michael Gillen, a Vietnam merchant mariner and historian, will offer the keynote address.

The event is presented by the Bay and Gogebic Community College Civics Corps in partnership with Waging Dialogue, the American Legion Department of Michigan, American Merchant Marine Veterans, and Veterans for All Voters.

“Veterans Speak provides students with an opportunity to learn directly from people who have served our country while creating meaningful connections across generations,” said Civics Corps club member Christy Koester.

The public is invited to participate in this opportunity to listen, learn, and honor veterans. See previous Veterans Speak dialogues at baycollege.edu/veteransspeak.
