MARQUETTE -- From Nov. 1-25, there will be a colorful box at partnering businesses for donations to the Bundle Up Marquette effort. Organizers will be collecting warm outdoor apparel donations. Please reach out if you would like to be another drop location for the event.
• Bennett Media Group on West Washington Street
• Jimmy John's on U.S. 41 by Target
• Marquette Food Co-op
• Range Bank on Front Street
From 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 28, anyone can come "shop" the donations along the fence and through the park to take what you need to stay warm. The clothing will be hung in the outdoor park area of Sandy Knoll Elementary.
There will be no media present, no photos of "shoppers." All donations remaining will be donated to the Northern Michigan University Ripple Effect for their student-free closet. We welcome volunteers between 9-10 a.m. to help hang the clothes on the Saturday shopping day.
Please help us by donating your gently used, or new, winter apparel. Please do not donate dirty, torn or broken items. (Zippers, etc.)
Needed are winter hats, gloves/mittens, warm socks, jackets, boots, snow pants/suits, scarves, etc.
