MARQUETTE -- Zephyr Winebar + Café celebrated its 10th anniversary in downtown Marquette, marking a decade of serving the community with a creative selection of wines, local beers, house-made soups and salads, and meat and cheese slates. The Lake Superior Community Partnership assisted with commemorating the milestone by capturing an anniversary photo recognizing the business's longstanding presence in the community.

The anniversary also marks three years of ownership for Sean Hartwig, who took over the business in October 2023. Since then, Hartwig, with the support of his wife Jen, has continued Zephyr’s tradition of sharing thoughtfully selected wines, quality food, and a welcoming atmosphere.

Zephyr hosts many events that bring community together, including educational wine classes with Everyday Wines (Oct. 26, Nov. 9, and Nov. 30), local nonprofit events, board meetings, private parties, baby showers, and other special occasions. They also make sure to support other local businesses by offering Young Mountain Tea, Dead River Coffee, Bergy Bread and others.

Since taking ownership in October 2023, Hartwig has continued Zephyr’s dedication to creating an intentional experience for guests. Bringing his knowledge as a cheesemonger and his background from his time at Zingerman’s Delicatessen in Ann Arbor, Michigan, he and the Zephyr staff have built a culture of learning and curiosity around good food and beverages.

“I’ve inherited a beautiful, intentional space, have talented staff, and feel such goodwill from the community at every level. Thanks to Daniel and the crew at Everyday Wines for setting up such an easygoing, elegant space 10 years ago and thanks to everyone who has helped us get this far.” Hartwig said. "We're looking forward to being a part of Marquette's thriving community of independent hospitality businesses for years to come."

Zephyr Winebar + Café is located at 215 S. Front St., in downtown Marquette. For more information, visit zephyrmqt.com.
