TruNorth Federal Credit Union supports Habitat for Humanity

By Journal staff 2 min read

MARQUETTE -- Marquette County Habitat for Humanity will welcome Kevin Dinser of TruNorth Federal Credit Union for a check presentation at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at McClellan Meadows, located on North McClellan Avenue between Fair Avenue and Wright Street in Marquette.

The presentation will celebrate a $19,000 investment in affordable housing throughout Marquette County, made possible by TruNorth's $4,000 contribution and a $15,000 matching grant from FHLBI.

TruNorth's initial contribution helped MCHFH secure the additional funding through FHLBI's Community Multiplier - Member Match Program, which provides flexible grants to nonprofits working to expand and preserve affordable housing. This partnership demonstrates how TruNorth's commitment to the community helped leverage additional resources and amplify the impact of its investment.

The funding will support the day-to-day operations of MCHFH's New Construction, Home Repair, and Ramp Programs, helping ensure the organization has the staff and resources needed to plan, coordinate, and manage its housing projects. This operational support strengthens the systems behind affordable housing efforts, from homeowner intake and project planning to construction coordination, grant compliance and outcome reporting.

As the need for affordable housing continues to grow amid rising construction costs, aging homes, and limited contractor availability, this investment will help MCHFH continue building affordable homes, completing critical home repairs, and improving accessibility for residents throughout Marquette County.

Founded in 1992, Marquette County Habitat for Humanity has built more than 115 homes and completed more than 250 critical home repairs. Through its construction, repair, and accessibility programs, MCHFH works to help local residents achieve safe, stable and affordable housing.
