Police: Menominee Township motorcycle crash could be result of impaired driving

MENOMINEE -- According to a Tuesday press release from the Menominee County Sheriff's Office, US Highway 41 near Willow Road #3.5 in Menominee Township was the site of a serious motorcycle crash on Sunday.

"The crash involved a passenger vehicle and a motorcycle carrying two occupants," said the release. "Both occupants of the motorcycle sustained major injuries and were transported to Aurora Bay Area Medical Center for treatment.

"The driver of the passenger vehicle was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving in connection with the crash."

The investigation remains ongoing.

The Menominee County Sheriff's Office would like to thank the Michigan State Police, Menominee City Police Department, Menominee City Fire Department, Menominee-Ingallston Fire Department, the Michigan Department of Natural Resources – Law Division, Aurora Bay Area Paramedics, Emergency Rescue Squad, Inc. and Menominee County 911 for their assistance and response at the scene of the crash.
