MARQUETTE -- Local author B. G. Bradley's new novel, “Shadows of the North Book One: In the Shadow of the Mountain” is now available in local book stores and direct from the publisher. Look for it at Snowbound Books and Bromley's Books in Marquette, at Snyder's outlets across the Upper Peninsula and direct from the publisher, Benegamah Press at bgbooksup.com.

Told through many voices reaching across different generations “Shadows of the North” tells the stories of a rural town nestled in the north woods, on the edge of Lake Superior, in the shadow of a mountain which holds ages of local secrets.

We follow the life of a man raised on the mountain's lore, growing up, finding love and chasing words for living, always asking questions that only the land can answer.

Decades before him, a stranger vanished into that same wilderness leaving behind only a journal, a rumor and a grief no one dared speak aloud.

This is a novel about what the land remembers when people won't, inheritance, forgiveness and the debts a family owes a place. What secrets does the mountain keep and what does it finally choose to reveal?

And what does it cost to belong to a place that remembers everything?
