MARQUETTE -- As fall brush and leaf cleanup preparations begin, please remember not to place leaves in the road or along the curb line. This causes leaves to collect in the storm drains and creates flooding in the streets. This sediment is also entering the storm drain system with the potential of plugging the storm water main.
Leaves must be placed behind the curb line, not in the street. Residents not complying will be in violation of Section 38-22(c) of the Marquette City Code.
Please do not place leaves around light poles or electrical poles. We are also reminding motorists to avoid parking in positions that block access to leaf piles, or they will not be picked up.
The schedule is as follows:
Brush collection: Oct. 26-30; leaf collection: Nov. 2-13
