MARQUETTE -- The Upper Peninsula Animal Welfare Shelter, in partnership with 24 PetWatch Pet Protection Services, is offering a limited number of discounted microchips to Marquette County pet owners. The program started Sept. 1.
Thanks to the sponsorship of 24 PetWatch, 50 microchips will be available for just $10 each while supplies last. Microchipping provides pets with a permanent form of identification and can greatly improve the chances of being reunited with their families if they become lost.
The discounted microchips are available to Marquette County residents only, with a limit of one discounted microchip per household. Dogs, cats, and rabbits over eight weeks of age are eligible. Pet owners must be at least 18 years old and provide identification showing proof of Marquette County residency.
