2026 city of Marquette award recipients named

MARQUETTE -- The city of Marquette Office of Arts & Culture has announced the recipients of the 29th Annual Art Awards, as nominated by the community for their significant impact and generous contributions to arts and culture in Marquette.

Recipients include:

• Arts Advocate: Michael Bradford

• Arts Business: Niik Creative Co.

• Arts Educator: Eric Marta

• Arts Innovation: Emerson Graves

• Arts Organization: Superiorland Woodturners

• Arts Volunteer: John French

• Performing Artist: Teal Lake Singers

• Visual Artist: Steve Hughes

• Writer: Jon Billman

• Special Recognition: Peg Hirvonen Bandshell Fundraising Committee

• Youth: Nora Grout

Join organizers in honoring the recipients at the Annual Art Awards event on Sunday, Nov. 8, at Ore Dock Brewing Company, 114 W Spring St., in Marquette.

This year's awards ceremony and reception is made possible by Innovate Marquette SmartZone and Ore Dock Brewing Co. The event is free and open to the public.
