MENOMINEE -- On July 10, Shane Allen Konell, 51, of Menominee, was sentenced by Judge Christopher S. Ninomiya in the 41st Circuit Court to concurrent terms of 5 to 10 years for possession of methamphetamine and a separate count of receiving and concealing a firearm, according to Menominee County Prosecuting Attorney Jeffrey T. Rogg.
According to publicly-filed documents and information presented in open court, on October 28, 2025, Konell was caught by police while fleeting in a taxicab from a local hotel, where he had been using illegal drugs and participating in illegal activity with Jeffrey Raymond Donner, 40, also of Menominee.
Donner was sentenced to prison in May for possession of methamphetamine and home invasion, third degree.
Konell had methamphetamine and a stolen .32 caliber pistol in his possession when arrested; he also had an array of property stolen from the Menominee residence of a 69-year-old homeowner, who was temporarily absent while undergoing medical treatment at a nursing home. Among the items stolen were jewelry, rare coins and military decorations earned by the homeowner's father during his service during World War II.
Konell has 11 prior felony convictions and 16 prior misdemeanor convictions.
