MDHHS seeks applications to increase lung cancer screening opportunities for Michigan residents

MARQUETTE - The Michigan Department of Health and Human Services has issued a grant funding opportunity to increase lung cancer screening by expanding capacity of primary care clinics and Federally Qualified Health Centers to refer patients to lung cancer screening through the use of evidence-based interventions outlined in the American Cancer Society reference guide.

Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, private and public entities, for-profit organizations, local health departments, federally recognized tribes, a group of federally recognized Michigan tribes or an Urban Indian Health Clinic program and universities.

The award period begins Nov. 1 and ends Sept. 30, 2027.  MDHHS expects to award approximately $80,000. Project director requests for access to the application are due by 5 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 8. Grant applications must be submitted electronically through the EGrAMS system by 3 p.m., Tuesday, Sept. 15.
