Copper Country 100 Women Who Care to host Third Giving Meeting of 2026

HANCOCK -- Local women looking to make a difference in their community are invited to attend the third 2026 quarterly giving meeting of Copper Country 100 Women Who Care on at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 19, at The Lodge Luxury Suites, located at 101 Front St., in Hancock.

Copper Country 100 Women Who Care is part of a growing national movement that brings women together to create a powerful collective impact, quickly and efficiently. Members commit to giving $100 four times per year. At each quarterly meeting, three local nonprofit organizations are nominated and presented. After a group vote, all donations are pooled and awarded to the nonprofit that receives the most votes.

Over the past year, the members have collectively given over $30,000 to local charities including: Omega House, 31 Backpacks, UP Wildlife Rehabilitation – Keweenaw Group, Pewabic Street Community Garden and the Unité HUG Fund.

Meeting details:

• Date: Wednesday, Aug. 19.

• Time: Doors open at 6 p.m., meeting begins at 6:30 p.m. An optional social time will follow

• Location: The Lodge Luxury Suites, 101 Front St., Hancock

• What to Bring: An optional snack to share; there is no obligation to donate at your first meeting

The event will be held in the lower-level event space, which is accessible without stairs from the south driveway. Attendees are asked to use Gartner's parking lot across the street or nearby public lots, leaving The Lodge's lot open for those with mobility needs.

The final meeting of 2026 will be held on Nov. 18 at the same location.
