CHASSELL -- The Michigan Department of Transportation is investing about $536,000 to repair the US 41 bridge over the Sturgeon River in Houghton County. The work, which includes expansion joint replacement, deck, substructure and railing patching and crack sealing, will extend the service life of the bridge to maintain a safe roadway for users.
The tentatibe starting date for the project is Monday, Aug. 3, and the estimated ending date Friday, Oct. 23.
Drivers should expect one lane of alternating traffic via temporary signals. A 10-foot lane width restriction will be in place in the work zone during the project.
Based on economic modeling, this investment is expected to directly and indirectly support five jobs.
