MARQUETTE -- City employees and labor sympathizers marched around city hall Monday, protesting an apparently bitter contract dispute between city management and three employee bargaining units. Between 300 and 400 picketers ringed the block around city hall and the police station. Labor and management are far apart on several issues, including the size of wage increase, the benefits package and contract language, said Larry Linna, an American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees spokesman.

MARQUETTE -- Students attending the 1967 summer session at Northern Michigan University will have the opportunity to plan a flexible schedule within the summer session, Dr. Clarence M. Bjork, dean of graduate studies and acting vice-president for academic affairs, announced today. The flexible scheduling plan has the full support of Dr. Edgar L. Harden, president, and the university's board of control.
