MARQUETTE — Nine members of the AmeriCorps National Civilian Community Corps from Perry Point, MD., are working on the North Country Trail between Grand Marais and Munising. They will be joined by volunteers from the North Country Trail Hikers, an Upper Peninsula hiking club that maintains the NCT throughout the Upper Peninsula.

MARQUETTE – The change of command ceremony took place at Sawyer Air Force Base on Saturday. Squadrons of the 410th Bombardment Wing at K.I. Sawyer Air Force Base were inspected yesterday afternoon by Gen. William B. Martinson, commander of Fourth Strategic Air Division, headquartered at Grand Forks, N.D. AFB. Following the wing’s change of command ceremony in which Col. Robert Ray, formerly deputy wing commander, succeeded Co. Pete Sianis as wing commander. Sawyer is one of the bases under jurisdiction of Fourth Strategic Air Division.
