Samara Floral Co. marks expansion, grand opening

NEGAUNEE -- The Lake Superior Community Partnership joined Samara Floral Co. owner Shailah Pelto, community members and local supporters on July 23 to celebrate the grand opening of the business’s newly expanded retail space with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.

Following the celebration, guests were invited to tour the business’s one-acre cut flower garden and enjoy an open house featuring refreshments and raffle prizes.

“We are thrilled to welcome the community into our expanded space,” said Pelto. “This opening represents four years of growth and we can’t wait to share our passion for locally grown flowers and unique gifts with everyone who has supported us on this journey.”

Since opening four years ago, Samara Floral Co. has grown into a full-service florist offering custom arrangements for weddings, special events, and everyday occasions, as well as plants, gifts and locally grown flowers. The expanded retail space provides additional room for merchandise while reflecting the business’s continued growth and its commitment to serving the community.

A defining feature of Samara Floral Co. is its one-acre flower farm in Negaunee, where many of the blooms used in its arrangements are grown. This locally rooted approach allows the business to provide customers with fresh, seasonal flowers while supporting sustainable floral design and showcasing the beauty of locally grown products.
