Newberry forestry consultant begins term as president of the Association of Consulting Foresters of America, Inc.

NEWBERRY -- The Association of Consulting Foresters of America, Inc. has announced that Gerald H. "Jerry" Grossman, ACF, of Newberry, began his two-year term as president on July 1. He will subsequently serve as past president in accordance with ACF's leadership succession process.

As president, Grossman serves as the chief elected officer of the Association and is responsible for providing leadership to the organization, guiding strategic priorities, representing ACF within the forestry community, and working closely with the Executive Committee and National Office staff to advance the interests of consulting foresters and the private landowners they serve.

"Jerry has dedicated his career to serving landowners, advancing sustainable forestry, and strengthening the consulting forestry profession," said immediate past president Rick N. Barnes, ACF (Ret.). "His depth of experience, thoughtful leadership, and longstanding commitment to ACF make him exceptionally well suited to lead the Association as we continue building on our momentum and pursuing new opportunities for our members."

Grossman began his consulting forestry career in 1990 and currently serves as Director of Operations in the Newberry office of Green Timber Consulting Foresters, Inc. Throughout his career, he has worked with private landowners on all aspects of forest management and has become widely respected for his expertise in sustainable forestry, forest certification, and private lands stewardship.

A graduate of the University of Michigan and Michigan State University, Grossman holds degrees in forestry and marketing and has served in numerous leadership roles throughout the forestry community. His professional service includes leadership positions with the Michigan Board of Foresters, the Michigan Forest Stewardship Advisory Committee, the American Tree Farm System, the Society of American Foresters, and the Michigan Timber Advisory Council. He previously served as ACF Northern Region Director and most recently completed a term as ACF president-elect.
